Spending quality time with your dog and giving them plenty of exercise are a couple of ways on how to avoid those costly dog training bills.  Dogs are more observant to details than humans and they communicate using their body language, voice and smells.  Some dogs that are displaying behavior problems may not need additional training as much as they need an outlet for pent up energy. 



 

Give your dog plenty of exercise and avoid those costly dog training bills.

  • Play a retrieving game like Frisbee or fetch.  Your dog will get in lots of running and will give them a better state of mind.
  • Go to the park with a friend and stand at opposite ends.  Practice calling or the “come” command.  Your dog will get some great exercise and you can also reinforce your training commands.
  • Take your dog jogging, biking or rollerblading with you.  This will be an excellent session for both of you.
  • Walk your dog.  It is amazing that the majority of dogs don’t get a formal walk in every day.

Most of the time, you won’t have to hire an outside trainer for your dog to correct bad behavior problems.  Usually, your dog is displaying those types of behavior because they want your attention.  Spending quality time with your dog is how to avoid those costly dog training bills and you get the added benefit of developing a strong bond with your furry friend.
